Making Hats

I’ve been selling my hat patterns from my Bandana Heads Etsy store for nearly 10 years and it’s time to close it down while I work on a new collection and revitalise some of my original patterns.

My first new recent project was to create an extra large bucket hat. Here’s the happy recipient. The Ikat striping for the hatband is an easier hatband than the original Mexican clay stamp design.

Crochet Bucket Hat – Extra Large

My three best sellers in my Etsy store included a cute crochet beanie inspired by the creations of yarn artisans of Rio, a crochet bucket hat I designed for my own travel comfort, and a knit visor cap inspired by the baggy green hat worn by our Australian cricket team. All three patterns can be worn by any gender.

The rhythm from the repetitive action of knitting and crochet lulls the mind, calms the senses and cocoons the doer from falling into the swirl of surrounding turmoil.

Update: The three hat patterns featured in this blog are now available for purchase from Julz Lovell Designs on Ravelry. Or you may purchase directly from the links below.
